From Wes Liu;

To fabricate and install a simple and clean fitting to the lower wing of Pitts and other biplanes, accomplish the following.

Replace the washer under the bolt head on the bottom of the wing with the following field manufactured part.

Take a 1" x 2" x 1/8" bit of 6061T4 aluminum. Round the ends with a 1/2" radius. Bend in the middle 45 degrees. In the center of one leg, drill a 3/16" hole for your I strut bolt. In the center of the other leg, drill a 1/4" hole. When installed, the 1/4" hole will accept an oval "French" link. In the field you install your oval link, then put your tie down rope through the link. To go flying you remove the rope and the oval link.

Best of luck,

Wes
